Larry Ferlazzo’s Website – An immense and ever-growing collection of resources and activities for both ESL and social studies classes. He updates it everyday, so to keep up I recommend subscribing to his blog, or at least his top ten links of the week.
12 Activities from The Language Teacher – The September 2004 issue of The Language Teacher features a variety of ESL / EFL activities.
The Literacy List is a great and growing list of resources for teachers and adult learners. There is an ESL section, along with lots of “life skill” resources on finding a house, employment, and so on that could be useful for ESL students.
eslHQ – A great site with tons of free worksheets and active forums.
An ELT Notebook – A blog by a very knowledgeable and experienced English teacher, full of lesson plan ideas and activities.

English Teaching Program – One English teacher’s collection of free class activities and ideas. He has a lot of role plays, and discussion questions.
CALL4ALL – An immense collection of links relating to computer assisted language learning.
Check Text Readability – This tool gives you the Flesch-Kincaid Reading Ease, Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level, and Gunning-Fog Index for any piece of text. This can be helpful in determining whether or not a text is too difficult (or easy) for your students. The tool also tells you the average number of syllables per word and words per sentence.
TEFL.net – Resources to teach English as a foreign or second language, including TEFL course database, TEFL jobs center, TEFL help desk, ESL lesson plans and teacher forums.
