K12 Online Conference

October 9th, 2007 by Dave · No Comments

Participate in the free K12 Online Conference
The K12 Online Conference is a free online conference inviting participation from educators around the world interested in using Web 2.0 tools and technologies in their teaching. The 2007 conference began with a pre-conference keynote on October 8.

Over the following two weeks (October 15-26) forty presentations will be posted online to the conference blog for participants to download and view. There will also be some live events, beginning with a “Fireside Chat” in 14 hours. The full schedule is available here.

You can also subscribe to video podcasts and audio podcasts. That is, unless you’re living in China (like me) where FeedBurner is blocked.

Personally, classroom technology isn’t my main interest, but I love the idea of a free online conference, and there are a couple of sessions that I plan to check out. Here’s hoping that more professional organizations take advantage of new technology to make their conference materials available to those of us who can’t make it to the conference in person.
